How Your Drip Works

A drip is a simple idea: fluids and nutrients go into a vein at a pace your provider controls, and your body takes it from there.

Board-certified nurse practitioner talking with a client during an IV hydration session at The Confidence Lab
01

Delivered into a vein

A small IV line carries fluids, electrolytes and vitamins into a vein in your arm or hand. Because nothing has to pass through your stomach first, your body can use them without waiting on digestion, which matters most when you are already run down.

02

A blend for each goal

Every drip on the menu is a set formula built around one goal, such as hydration, energy, immune support, recovery or glow. Your provider confirms it suits you and can tailor it with an extra nutrient from the add-on table.

03

A pace set for you

Your provider sets the drip rate for your comfort and can slow it at any point. Fluids that run in at a steady pace are easier on the vein, and the time in the chair depends on the size of the bag and the formula.

04

Hydration restored

Once the fluids and nutrients are circulating, your body uses them to restore hydration and top up what it was short on. The plain fluid bags focus on hydration alone, while the vitamin drips add nutrients chosen for their goal.

When Will I Feel the Difference?

Every drip and every body responds a little differently. Here is the usual pattern.

During your drip

Rehydration starts as the fluids run, and many clients feel more refreshed before the bag is empty.

Later the same day

With fluids and nutrients topped up, energy, headaches and general comfort often improve within a few hours.

Over the next day or two

Vitamin-focused drips such as Immunity tend to settle in as your body puts the nutrients to work.

With regular visits

Glow and other nutrient drips build gradually, so a steady rhythm keeps the benefits going between appointments.

Your Visit, Step by Step

Before
  • Eat a light meal beforehand, especially if needles tend to make you feel lightheaded.
  • Wear a top with sleeves that roll comfortably above the elbow.
  • Bring a list of your medications and supplements, and mention any allergies.
  • Pregnant or nursing? Tell us when you book so we can plan the right drip with you.
During
  • Your provider reviews your health history, then places a small IV line with a quick pinch.
  • Sit back in the recliner while the bag runs, and use the time to read, work or rest.
  • Tell us if your arm feels cold or uncomfortable, and we will slow the flow and check the line.
After
  • A small bruise or tenderness where the line was is normal and fades within a few days.
  • There is no downtime, so you can head straight back to work, the gym or errands.
  • Keep drinking water through the rest of the day to hold on to the hydration.
  • Leave the bandage on for an hour or so, and press gently if the spot feels tender.

Is an IV Drip Right for You?

IV therapy suits a wide range of goals. Here is where clients tend to land, and what to tell us beforehand.

A good fit if…

Client in casual clothes relaxing in a recliner during an IV hydration drip at The Confidence Lab

Run down after travel, heat, a hard workout or a stomach bug

Heading into cold and flu season, a work trip or a big event

Dragging through the afternoon or struggling to concentrate

Training for a race or game and wanting support before and after

Pregnant and struggling with nausea and dehydration

Consider an alternative if…

Heart, kidney or blood pressure conditions

Tell us when you book, and your provider will plan the fluids and pace with you.

Pregnant or nursing

Let us know how far along you are, and we can point you to the Prenatal drip.

Taking prescription medications

Bring your list so your provider can check it against your drip and any add-ons.

Uneasy with needles

Mention it at check-in, and we will take the line placement slowly and talk you through it.

Pro Tips to Get the Most From Your Drip

Small habits our regulars swear by.

Drink water that morning

Arriving well hydrated makes the vein easier to find, so the line goes in faster and more comfortably.

Name your goal

Tell your provider whether you are after energy, immune support or recovery, so the drip and add-ons match the week you are having.

Time it around the event

Book Pre-Performance a day or so before a race and Recovery after it, rather than trying to catch up once you are sore.

Keep a simple log

Jot down how you felt before and after each visit. It helps your provider fine-tune the formula next time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a consultation before my first IV drip?
No separate appointment is needed. You book the drip you want, and at the start of the visit a licensed provider goes over your health history, medications and allergies to confirm it suits you that day. If something points to a different drip or a slower pace, they talk it through with you before the line goes in.
How do I book an IV drip?
Choose a drip on the menu above and tap its booking button. You pick a time and book online with your details and a card on file to hold the spot. Would you rather talk it over first? Call (614) 219-9983 and we can help you choose a drip and find a time that works.
Does getting an IV hurt?
Most clients feel a quick pinch as the small needle goes in, and then very little once the soft catheter is in place. Your provider chooses a comfortable spot, usually on the arm or hand. Some people notice a cool feeling as the fluids run. If needles make you nervous, say so and we will go slowly.
How long does an IV hydration session take?
Plan on 30 to 60 minutes in the chair. The plain fluid bags take about half an hour, Tri-Immune about 45 minutes and the other vitamin infusions about an hour. Add a few minutes for check-in and the health review. There is no downtime, so you can head straight back to work or your plans.
How much does IV hydration cost in Powell?
Drips start at $59. The Myers Cocktail is $169, Energy is $169, Glow is $199 and Migraine is $189. Every card on the menu shows its price before you book, so the cost is clear up front. CareCredit financing is available, and current offers are on our deals page.
What does a basic hydration drip cost?
If fluids are all you need, the 500mL bag is $59 and the full liter is $79. Quench, which adds vitamins to the electrolytes, is $189. Each of these can take an add-on, such as a B-12 shot or anti-nausea relief, if you want a little more from the visit.
What does a hangover IV drip cost in Powell?
The Hangover IV Infusion is $139. It combines fluids, electrolytes, anti-nausea medication and vitamins to settle your stomach and ease the headache. Many clients book it the morning after a wedding or a big night out. Read more on our hangover IV page before you choose.
How much are the immune drips?
Tri-Immune is $169 and the Immunity IV Infusion is $169. For a higher dose in one sitting, the High Dose Ultimate Immunity Infusion is $499. Clients often book an immune drip before travel or at the start of cold and flu season, and some add zinc or extra vitamin C.
Do you take insurance, HSA or FSA?
We do not bill insurance for IV therapy, since it is an elective service. HSA and FSA cards are accepted for eligible services. CareCredit financing is another option. Check with your plan administrator first if you are unsure what your account covers.
What is in a Myers cocktail?
A Myers cocktail combines magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C in one infusion. Together they support energy, immune function and overall wellness, which is why it is the drip many first-time clients start with. You can add extras such as glutathione or a B-12 shot if you want to tailor it.
Should I choose the Energy drip or the Focus drip?
Pick Energy when you feel physically drained and want stamina that lasts through the day. Pick Focus when the problem is mostly mental: brain fog, scattered attention or a big deadline. If both sound familiar, tell your provider at check-in and they can help you decide based on the week you are having.
Can I get an IV drip while pregnant?
Your provider will advise at your consultation on whether an IV drip is right for you during pregnancy or while nursing. We also offer a Prenatal IV Infusion for pregnancy-related nausea and dehydration, with prescription anti-nausea support added by your provider. Mention that you are pregnant and how far along you are when you book, and bring any guidance from your OB.
Is IV therapy safe?
IV drips are well tolerated by most healthy adults, and the most common side effect is a small bruise where the line was placed. Before each drip, your provider reviews your health history and medications. If you have a heart, kidney or blood pressure condition, tell us ahead of time so the fluids and pace can be planned with you.
Can I add vitamins or extras to my drip?
Yes. Every drip can take add-ons from the add-on table, from biotin and glutathione to anti-nausea relief and a pain reliever for headaches. Some clients add a B-12 shot during the same visit. Ask your provider which extras fit your goal and the drip you chose.
How often can I get IV therapy?
It depends on the drip, your health and your goals. Some clients come in monthly as part of a wellness routine, others only before a race, after an illness or the morning after a late night. Your provider can suggest a rhythm, and VIP membership can make regular visits easier on your budget.
When will I feel the difference after an IV?
Many clients feel more refreshed before the bag is empty, because rehydration starts right away. Energy and comfort often improve later the same day. Nutrient-focused drips such as Glow build more gradually over regular visits. Everyone responds a little differently, so share how you felt at your next appointment.
Is IV hydration better than drinking water?
For everyday hydration, drinking water works well. An IV helps on the days you are already depleted or nauseous and cannot keep enough down, because the fluids skip digestion and go into a vein. It is a boost for the days you need one, not a replacement for good daily habits.
Can I pair an IV drip with a vitamin shot or NAD+?
Yes. A quick vitamin injection can fill the gap between drips, and some clients combine IV visits with NAD+ therapy, which we give as an injection. Each is booked as its own service. Ask your provider how to space them so the timing suits your goals and schedule.
